Leading the design for Gojek Tech social channels was a challenging journey. I began by working on the a visual language for technical content presented to our audience. Initially, the challenge was to make complex engineering and data science by balancing the text-heavy narratives with creative visuals. I focussed on creating a distinctive style that was both playful and sophisticated.

This involved a deep dive into the content to understand its nuances, followed by the creation of intricate, relevant visuals that complemented the technical depth of our content.

To reach engineers and product managers, as a team, we tapped into their alternative interests such as popular culture, comics, and mythology . This innovative approach allowed us to create content that resonated on multiple levels, making our posts more relatable and engaging. The challenge was formidable: posting five days a week demanded rapid ideation and execution of high-quality visuals. Over time, we built a strong initial audience, allowing us to scale back to three posts per week while maintaining engagement. This strategy not only kept our content fresh and exciting but also ensured we could consistently deliver top-tier visuals. By leveraging these interests, we grew our Instagram following from 5,000 to 20,000 in just two years, positioning Gojek Tech as a leading voice in the tech community and attracting top-tier talent.
